MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN ($2,000 hiring bonus) *2nd Shift Position 2pm to 10pm*

The Maintenance Tech position is an 8-hour shift Monday through Friday working in our state of the art, climate controlled facility, with the opportunity for voluntary overtime and, at times, may require overtime beyond the normal workday. We have available shifts on both 2nd as well as 3rd  (posted pay includes shift differential).  
 
As a Maintenance Tech, you will support production by maintaining, enhancing, and repairing equipment with minimal interruption of production operations while also maintaining the facility as a whole. This position should carry out these tasks with safety, food safety, and product quality in mind. This position is also responsible for resolving maintenance issues as they arise according to their level of urgency in a team atmosphere. We provide on-site training and certifications to support your success.
 
Job duties Include:
  • Supports production by repairing operational/equipment issues as they occur in accordance to urgency
  • Complete work orders and preventative maintenance while maintaining the relevant documentation
  • Train personnel on repairs they have the ability to perform themselves if the issue occurs again.
  • Keep maintenance spaces and parts/equipment clean and organized.
  • Read and interpret safety rules, SQF policy, manuals, and general instruction that apply to tasks.
  • Perform modification and/or fabrication projects to increase the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the production assets.
  • Perform general facility maintenance.
  • Communicate with outside vendors in a professional manner and hold them to company policy while on premises.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Past maintenance work experience.
  • Must have basic math skills and ability to read a US standard measuring tape along with precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment problems.
  • Must be proficient reading electrical schematic diagrams.
  • Must have past experience and proficiency troubleshooting industrial machine drive and control systems consisting of PLC controllers, Point I/O, servo drives, loop controllers, pneumatic solenoid valves, and machine safety controls consisting of guard switches and light curtains.
  • Must have basic mechanical knowledge related to gearbox drives, taper lock pulleys, couplings, hydraulic & pneumatic valves, bearing installation, etc..
  • Must furnish basic technician hand tools, both inch & metric.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Good time management and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to communicate and work with others effectively
  • Performing general physical activities such as standing, bending, pushing, pulling, grasping and lifting (up to 50 lbs)

  • NFPA 70e (arc flash) certification (Preferred) (Actively practiced at Morris)
Shift availability:
  • Night Shift (Preferred)
  • Overnight Shift (Preferred)
